Byron Bay

After the fantastic wedding, we joined several of Kel & Trist's friends and family and headed south to Byron Bay; famous for its great surf beaches and relaxed atmosphere - the boys loved playing in the waves and throwing a rugby ball around on the golden sand.

A bit of cloud cover one day provided just about enough persuasion for us to leave the beach and walk to the headland...

... which is the most easterly point on the Australian mainland.

Despite a big BBQ the night before (where we attempted to finish up the left over alcohol from the wedding) the five of us were up at 5am to watch the sunrise at the lighthouse.

It was great to be all together to share the experience.

Looking down onto the beach we could see the surf rolling in so we headed down to get our swim stuff and hit the waves.

With it being Neale's last night, on our return to Brisbane we made our way into town on the ferry for a bite to eat and a glass of wine; what a champion making it over here for six days for the wedding!
